It was a busy and exciting weekend for our club, with a dominant Hostplus Cup trial performance on Saturday followed by a mixed but competitive outing for our McDonald’s Academy teams on Sunday at Davies Park.
Hostplus Cup Trial
Saturday | vs Tweed | Won 14–0
We kicked off the weekend in style with an emphatic 14–0 victory over Tweed in our Hostplus Cup trial match. It was a strong all-round performance, highlighted by the defensive resolve to keep our opponents scoreless.
With many new faces pulling on the jersey, the match provided a valuable opportunity to build combinations and test depth across the squad. The energy, cohesion and discipline on display were pleasing signs as preparations continue for the season ahead.

Our Academy teams travelled to Davies Park on Sunday to take on Souths in a full day of representative football.
Harvey Norman U17s
The U17s faced a tough challenge, going down 0–26. Despite the result, the group showed resilience throughout the contest and will take valuable lessons from the experience.
Harvey Norman U19s
The U19s battled hard but were defeated 4–48. While the scoreboard didn’t fall our way, there were important moments of effort and determination that the team can build on moving forward.
Mal Meninga Cup
Our Mal Meninga side delivered a strong performance to secure a 26–16 win. The team showed composure under pressure and capitalised on their opportunities to come away with a well-earned victory.
Cyril Connell Cup
The Cyril Connell team capped off the day with a gritty 14–6 win. It was a determined defensive display, with the group holding firm in key moments to seal the result.
