Round 1 Injury Update

After a grueling pre-season and three successful trial matches the Seagulls head into 2020 with the squad in overall good shape.

Unfortunately the Seagulls have one casualty in new recruit Lachlan Maranta, who suffered a Grade 2 hamstring strain in the warm up of the trial against the Brisbane Broncos.

Maranta’s rehab is progressing well and fans can hope to see ‘Lachie’ back in Seagulls colours in the early rounds of the Intrust Super Cup.

Head Physiotherapist Brandon Bunn said “Lachlan is doing everything he can to get back on the field and his professionalism has been first class in managing his rehab with what can be a frustrating injury.”

Maranta added. “Unfortunately injury is a part of football and the timing wasn’t great but I am progressing well and looking forward to making my official debut for the Seagulls soon.”

Seagulls Injury List

  • Lachlan Maranta – Grade 2 hamstring – expected return 2-3 weeks
  • Nofoasa Malutoa – Grade 3 AC joint – expected return 1-2 weeks
