Gulls to Broncos

The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls partnership with the Brisbane Broncos has seen a number of players graduate to NRL and today we take a look at some of those who have done so in recent years.

Tom Dearden

Dearden made his Broncos and NRL debut in 2019, while also impressing in his time with the Seagulls. His introduction to the Broncos saw the team go on a winning run, before injury cruelly cut his season short. 2020 will see Dearden compete with Broncos’ new recruit Brodie Croft for the no.7 jersey.

Patrick Carrigan

Carrigan has established himself as a regular first grader in the Broncos line-up, with many touting him as a future captain of the club. Before he was a regular Bronco though, Carrigan was a Seagulls fan favourite.

Richard Kennar

Kennar’s path has been a little different to Dearden and Carrigan as he joined the Seagulls and then the Broncos via Souths Sydney and an aborted Mormon mission to Scotland. Kennar grabbed his opportunity in last pre-season but unfortunately an injury limited him to only a handful of games for the Grand Finalist Seagulls. No doubt he will be looking for better luck on the injury front in 2020.
