Ryan Jackson signs with Dolphins NRL for 2023

The Dolphins have signed boom Wynnum Manly Seagulls youngster, Ryan Jackson, for their entry to the NRL competition next year.

Jackson has starred for the Seagulls’ Mal Meninga Cup U18 team this season, resulting in selection in the 2022 Queensland Under 18 Emerging Origin squad.

Following the end of the U18 season, he has stepped up to play for the Seagulls Hastings Deering Colts team.

Jackson was also selected in the 2021 Brisbane Under 17 team and has been destined for the highest level of rugby league.

At just 18 years of age, Jackson stands at 195 centimetres and weighs 108 kilograms.

He joins a long list of players to sign NRL contracts from the Seagulls in recent times, proving once again the strength of the McDonalds Seagulls academy for player development.

Ryan Jackson aims up in defence.

“The Dolphins will continue to sign talent from Queensland pathways as we honour our pledge to build a team with a long-term future,” Dolphins chief executive Terry Reader said.

“It is great to be adding Brisbane-born front rowers to our list – one who is just starting out on his rugby league journey.

“One of the key outcomes of adding the Dolphins to the NRL was to provide more opportunities for local Queensland-based players to compete at the highest level.

“Ryan Jackson will now get that chance with the Dolphins when our first pre-season training sessions start in November.”
