Seagulls Pre-Season Training Building Nicely

The Seagulls HostPlus Cup and QRL Women’s squads have been training well as they build into the 2022 season.

Still two months out from their Round 1 clash with last year’s semi-final opponent, the Burleigh Bears, assistant coach Daryl Short says the boys are looking good but still have a lot of improvement in them. “We’re rolling along nicely, and the guys are training hard. We are about to embark on our pre-season camps, and we have big expectations for this season.”

Round 2 of the HostPlus Cup will coincide with Round 1 of the QRL Women’s competition, with both matches to be played at Iona College, trusted community partner of the Wynnum Manly Seagulls.

Before Round 1 though, the Seagulls will play the Brisbane Broncos on February 12 at BMD Kougari Oval. The Harvey Norman Women’s U19’s, Cyril Connell Challenge U16’s and the Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup U18’s teams will all play before the main NRL trial match kicks off at 4pm.

With a capacity crowd expected, and plenty of entertainment on the day, it will be an afternoon to remember for all rugby league fans in the area.
