Emerging Leaders Camp on Moreton Island

This past weekend, our partners at Moreton Island Adventures hosted 15 players and staff on Moreton Island as part of the Seagulls Emerging Leaders Camp.

The goal of the camp was to allow the players to bond and enhance their leadership capabilities as they progress through the ranks of the Seagulls football teams.

Led by outgoing Seagulls CEO Hanan Laban and Operations Manager Daryl Short, with support from Leading Teams expert Martine Harkin, the camp was a great success and certainly justified the decision of the club to identify these young men as future Seagulls leaders.

With great organisation from club sponsor, Moreton Island Adventures, the players boarded to the MICAT ferry over to Moreton Island on Saturday morning and hopped on a day tour of the island.

This tour include sandboarding the dunes, snorkeling the shipwrecks at Tangalooma and kayaking in clear-bottom boats.

The accommodation was situated at Castaways glamping tent area on the north of the island, where further leadership activities continued into the evening.

The food, accommodation and organisation provided by Castaways and Moreton Island Adventures was phenomenal. Many players were able to experience the island for the first time and will no doubt return in their own time.

The Seagulls are thrilled to have partnered with Moreton Island Adventures and hope to make this a yearly trip.
