From Gulls to Broncos

The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls partnership with the Brisbane Broncos has seen a number of players play for both clubs on their path to NRL. We take a look at some of those who have donned the maroon and gold and red and green in recent years.

Payne Hass

The NRL 2019 Rookie of the Year had a breakout season in 2019 with the Brisbane Broncos. Before becoming the Broncos forward leader, Haas began his football ‘apprenticeship’ in the Intrust Super Cup with the Seagulls

Jordan Kahu

Kahu’s story is a little different to the rest.Often unlucky on the injury front throughout his career, Kahu has played for the Seagulls on a number of occasions over his career. As he rehabilitates his reconstructed shoulder, we may once again see him at BMD Kougari Oval in 2020.

Keenan Palasia

Our most recent NRL graduate had a breakout 2019 playing for the Seagulls and saw him rewarded with two Broncos NRL appearances. Now apart of the Broncos top 30 squad Palasia unfortunately broke down in pre-season training and has undergone a full knee reconstruction. No doubt we will see Palasia back at his best at some stage in 2020 for either the Seagulls or the Broncos.
