Last season saw a number of new faces in the Red & Green and the next generation of Seagulls are ready for the 2018 campaign.
Eight players debuted in season 2017 as coach Adam Brideson had his hand forced due to a high injury toll.
Whilst it was challenging at the time, the experience was invaluable for the budding young talent at BMD Kougari Oval.
Recent NYC graduates Jayden Berrell, Stedman Lefau and Max Elliott took big strides over the course of their maiden seasons at Wynnum Manly.
Whilst Aaron Booth and Junior Pita added to their single Intrust Super Cup game in 2016 with significant game time last season.
CEO Hanan Laban feels this new group of Seagulls is hungry for more after getting a taste in 2017.
“The players who received opportunities last year have brought a lot of energy to the squad.
You can see that they want to make their mark at this level and this comes through with their excitement at training.
There has been a gradual change over the last few years as we saw a lot of old players depart, however there is a lot to like about this new group coming through.”
The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls open their 2018 campaign with trials against the Norths Devils (Feb 10 at Kitchener Park), Easts Tigers (Feb 17 at BMD Kougari Oval) and the Brisbane Broncos (Feb 24 at BMD Kougari Oval).
