Great community turnout in Gulls Park Run

By Seagulls Media

The Seagulls squad took part in the Wynnum community Parkrun last Saturday, November 17 as part of their 2019 pre-season training.

With the first official week of an intense 5-week pre-season program kicking-off on Monday, the Seagulls joined the Bayside community in the free 5km run to kick-start their 2019 campaign.

Taking part in the popular weekly event was not only a great starting point for training, but it also presented the perfect opportunity for the Seagulls to get amongst the local community and support local events.

The inclusion of the 5km run into the training schedule was an important addition as it highlights the importance of the community to players ahead of the 2019 season.

Seagulls players and staff alike were thrilled with the opportunity to get amongst the community and socialise with supporters.

“It was fantastic to see the players and staff out there mingling with the community and getting involved in such a great event,” said Seagulls CEO Hanan Laban.

“We believe it is very important to get the players out amongst the supporters. Taking part in local events such as Parkrun is just one of the ways that we can get to know those in the community and thank them for their ongoing support.”

Wynnum Parkrun is a free event held every Saturday morning from 7am along the Wynnum Foreshore. For more information head to http://www.parkrun.com.au/wynnum/.
