Refreshed Seagulls set to defend home

After their return to winning ways two weeks ago against the Central Queensland Capras, the Seagulls are looking to bring that form back home this weekend.

Coach Adam Brideson believes the Round 9 bye came at a good time as a season defining period approaches.

“We have a plan and structure regarding our strength and conditioning program.

“We gave the boys the week off to freshen up ahead of an important six week block of football,” explained Brideson.

This week’s opponent, the PNG Hunters will bring a lot of energy to BMD Kougari Oval as they try to get their season on track.

The importance of winning at home in front of their passionate fans is at the forefront of Brideson’s mind.

“It’ll be a very good game and they’re a very good side who have had a few results just not go their way.

But it’s really important for us to do a good job at home for both our supporters and sponsors.”

The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls take on the PNG Hunters at BMD Kougari Oval this Sunday afternoon at 3pm. Lower grades precede the main game with gates opening at 11am.
