Seagulls Return to Stradbroke Island This Weekend

The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls are proud to be returning to North Stradbroke Island / Minjerribah this weekend for our second Indigenous recognition match of the season.

In partnership with Deadly Choices, Redland City Council and Yulu-Burri-Ba Health Clinic, the Seagulls will return to the island to continue to develop relationships and advocate for healthy lifestyle choices among the local Indigenous population.

In addition to our Hostplus Cup match on Sunday 13 August, the Seagulls will also visit on Wednesday to assist with a rugby league clinic at Dunwich State School and on Friday to attend the opening of the new panoramic boardwalk at Point Lookout.

Then on Sunday throughout the day, there will be market stalls and activations for everyone from kids to adults. Junior rugby league games will take place from 10:15am across a number of age groups.

At 1pm there will be a traditional Welcome to Country and a ceremony to recognise all the contributors to our game, followed by a smoking ceremony for the players to run through as they enter the field.

We’ll kick off against the Souths Logan Magpies in a Top 4 clash at 2pm. The Player of the Match will be awarded the Lionel Morgan Medal for their performance

We welcome everyone along on the day and hope to see many Seagulls supporters there!

If you are heading over on the Sealink vehicle or passenger ferry, use the code HOSTPLUS2023 for 20% off your return ticket.
