Seagulls Sportsman’s Dinner
The BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls are closing in on our biggest event for 2022, the Sportsman’s Dinner on Tuesday 9th of August.
This major event helps to fundraise for the Seagulls Foundation, which supports player welfare, junior development through the McDonald’s Seagulls Academy, and infrastructure improvements at BMD Kougari Oval.
Wayne Bennett will headline a blockbuster night of entertainment, where he chats one-on-one with MC Pat Welsh before he starts the Redcliffe Dolphins head coach role in 2023.
Joining Wayne on stage will be QLD State of Origin legend, Shane Webcke. We look forward to hearing from Shane about playing at NRL and representative level, as well as some behind-the-scenes stories while being coached by Wayne for so long.
Greg Ritchie, former Australian Test cricketer turned comedian, will also perform on the night, and based on previous reviews, there will be tears of laughter across the room.
In between our special guest appearances, there will be a live auction for 4 incredible items with outstanding value.
Additionally, a major raffle will be held across the evening with the grand prize of a 7-night trip to Fiji + $2500 Helloworld flight voucher being handed to one lucky winner.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, a silent auction containing 40 memorable items will run throughout the night with participants able to text through their bids from the comfort of their seats.
All funds raised will go straight to the Seagulls Foundation and are incredibly important for the success of the BMD Wynnum Manly Seagulls both on and off the field.
There are a few tickets left for this event which can be purchased here: www.wynnumseagulls.com.au
The Seagulls would like to thank BMD as our Principal sponsor, Premier Partner Bartons Motor Group, and all Seagulls sponsors that will contribute to the night by attending or donating a prize.
We are looking forward to a big one on Tuesday night!

Emerging Leaders Camp on Moreton Island
This past weekend, our partners at Moreton Island Adventures hosted 15 players and staff on Moreton Island as part of the Seagulls Emerging Leaders Camp.
The goal of the camp was to allow the players to bond and enhance their leadership capabilities as they progress through the ranks of the Seagulls football teams.
Led by outgoing Seagulls CEO Hanan Laban and Operations Manager Daryl Short, with support from Leading Teams expert Martine Harkin, the camp was a great success and certainly justified the decision of the club to identify these young men as future Seagulls leaders.
With great organisation from club sponsor, Moreton Island Adventures, the players boarded to the MICAT ferry over to Moreton Island on Saturday morning and hopped on a day tour of the island.
This tour include sandboarding the dunes, snorkeling the shipwrecks at Tangalooma and kayaking in clear-bottom boats.
The accommodation was situated at Castaways glamping tent area on the north of the island, where further leadership activities continued into the evening.
The food, accommodation and organisation provided by Castaways and Moreton Island Adventures was phenomenal. Many players were able to experience the island for the first time and will no doubt return in their own time.
The Seagulls are thrilled to have partnered with Moreton Island Adventures and hope to make this a yearly trip.
