Mitch Cronin Cup / ANZAC Round

Sunday 24 April will see the Seagulls take on the Magpies in Round 5 of Hostplus Cup.

This match will also be the first of two legs in the Mitch Cronin Cup, an annual title competed for by Wynnum and Souths, in honour of the former Seagull who passed in 2020.

The second leg of the Cup will take place when the two teams meet again on August 21 in Round 19 of Hostplus Cup.

Given the unique competition draw in 2022, in which the Seagulls will host Souths twice at BMD Kougari Oval, the main ceremony and trophy presentation will be held after the second fixture in August.

The winner of the Mitch Cronin Cup will be decided by the aggregate score of the two matches, with Souths the current holders of the Cup.

This Sunday’s match will also commemorate ANZAC Day, as the Seagulls will pay respect to all the men and women in the defence forces.

Sunday will be a day for remembrance and celebration at BMD Kougari Oval, and the Seagulls welcome one and all.
