Senior players return for final trial against Tigers

The Wynnum Manly Seagulls will welcome back a host of senior players in Saturday’s final trial match against the Brisbane Tigers at Totally Workwear Stadium.

After being rested last week, Sam Scarlett, Delouise Hoeter, Aaron Rockley, Jayden Berrell and Max Elliott all return to the starting 13.

Also turning out for the first time in a Seagulls jersey in 2021 will be Richie Kennar, who joins the team as a Brisbane Broncos affiliate player.

Fellow Broncos affiliates, Keenan Palasia and Issac Luke, will suit up for the second week in a row in the red and green.

Berrell finds himself in the odd position of returning to play his former club, who he did not play a game for, due to the coronavirus impacted season in 2020.

Young guns Selwyn Cobbo and TC Robati receive another chance to impress Adam Brideson as the 19-year-olds push their case to make their Intrust Super Cup debuts in Round 1.

The Seagulls and Tigers will be playing off for the Charity Cup, with proceeds from the match to be donated to the clubs’ respective charities, the Men of League and Livin.

The match kicks off at 6pm on Saturday evening at Totally Workwear Stadium.

Live stream will be on the Seagulls Facebook page.
