Wynnum’s U18’s too strong for Tigers

Wynnum put on an outstanding performance against the Brisbane Tigers in Round 3 of the Auswide Bank Mal Meninga Cup.

Tigers player Jordan Abel made a line break and put the first point on the board for the Tigers in the 8th minute.

Conversion was unsuccessful by Jake Self, score was 0-4.

In the 13th minute Haizyn Mellars took an intercept in the Easts half and going the distance to put the Seagulls first points on the board.

Conversion unsuccessful by Blake Moore to level the score 4-4.

John Radel (18′) barge over on line for the Seagulls. Conversion was successful by Blake Moore putting the Seagulls in front 10-4.

An error by the Tigers Xavier Asi allowed for Shaun Packer to score in the 21st minute.

Conversion successful Blake Moore 22’, score was 16-4.

Shaun Packer put through a grubber that found Blake Moore (32′) to put the ball down over the line.

Conversion successful by Blake Moore bringing the score to 22-4 in the Seagulls favour at half time.

The second half started strong for the Seagulls with Leon Te Hau (42′) scoring off the scrum to put the ball down in the left corner.

Unsuccessful conversion by Blake Moore kept the score at 26-4.

Leon Te Hau (49’) went over in the left corner 7 minutes later, followed by a successful conversion bringing the score to 32-4

Luke PHILP scored in the 52nd minute and Angus Write in the 59th, both followed unsuccessful conversions by Blake Moore score was now 40-4.

After defending back-to-back sets Jackson Chang went over in the 63rd and 66th minute with no successful conversions. Final score 40-12 in the Seagulls favour.
